Aratula Hoedown III Band Info

Well, lots of rock n roll, cheap drinks, free camping in the pub grounds, free entry is here again, ARATULA HOEDOWN III

Combining the best local and regional acts every 3 months for an awesome, awesome day!! This time we have face painting for kids (and not so young) and a waterslide for the arvo – so bring your togs AND A TOWEL.

Music starts at 1pm – so get there early, get a seat, get comfortable and party!

ironSide
Ironside – Having a few member/health issues (Disco hurt his finger), Ironside will be returning to their ‘classic’ lineup. One of the best acts I know – their sound is thick and has the rhythm is almost a tribal assault. Ironside’s raw and powerfull approach to rock and roll leave them owning the stage on many occasion. While last Hoedown Ironside played early, this time they are where they belong – on the top of the pile (shagpile that is).
2ndhandtb2nd Hand Toothbrush – These guys are fast getting a reputation for hard, fast, solid punk rock. It will be an honour to see these guys play while they are still a relatively ‘unknown’ act, as with the vibe they are getting, they won’t be for long.
The Big Boys – If The Plymsouls, Flamin’ Groovies or Dictators are your thing you will love the honest, raw hard rock of The Big Boys. Featuring Cameron Earl on Drum, Pete Cossar on Bass and local Mark Batten-O’Donohoe on guitar, this is a once in 26 years show with the guys currently rehearsing for anohter project and taking the opportunity to do a Hoedown 🙂
TPTaleena Peck – It’s always a pleasure to have TP play, an incredibly talented songwriter and performer, Taleena is that typical girl next door with a twist, that twist being her songs about life, family and love. With a voice that is just getting stronger show by show, pre-pare to see one of tomorrow’s most popular artists.
rentoPaul Renton & Ashleigh Mac – Rento and his blues is a bit of a favourite out this way – and we welcome him back, this time with fellow muso Ashleigh Mac. We’re sure Rento will be bringin some of his Bremer River Eel and keeping it real (and probably copping a feel at the same time)
drbombayDr Bombay (Acoustic) – Not only are Dr Bombay one of the Hoedowns favourite regulars because of the kick arse rock n roll that comes with a heritage pub feel, but the guys songs translate beautifully into acoustic versions courtesy of the inherent melody and pop sensibilities of cheif song writer/singer Gary Slater and incredible feel of guitarist Stew de Lacy. This will be a powerfully melodic end to the afternoon! We consider Stew a ring local as he hails from Rosewood 😉
Boatel – Coming from the ashes of Eat Them Like Apples, one of the nicest drumming MoFo’s in the business, a bassist from Backroads and a man who hosts a ‘frog and peach’ show – Boatel combine edgy, quirky pop with just a hint of sanity, only just a hint though! Seriously Boatel are one of the Scenic Rims most original and entertaining acts.
Jboodatta – Jboodatta are an ongoing project of 4 old mates who have playing together off and on for many years, featuring brother Vince and Brian Connolly, together with Marky and J from Weezal, Jboodatta combine rock, harmonies grooves with an 80’s feel.
Sheish Money – Old mate Sheish Money opens this Hoedown at 1pm. This is a man who has had over 30 years playing, mixing, recording and generally making beautiful music and poetry in many forms. Another ringin local as he hails from Maryvale where he has his studio/home
